The UPMC Procirca Perfusion Simulation and Education Center has modern cardiopulmonary bypass, extra-corporeal membrane oxygenation and ventricular assist devices available for use by individuals or teams. Perfusionists, physicians, health care providers and industry professionals can gain a more complete understanding of extra corporeal technology through demonstrations, hands-on learning and high fidelity simulation, supported with didactic training.

Our primary goal is to bring together healthcare professionals in a realistic and safe simulated environment, where skills, teamwork and critical thinking are taught and practiced. Our faculty of certified and licensed perfusionists, led by renowned cardiac surgery and critical care physicians from UPMC, has a collective 110 years of clinical experience. Our ECMO program is an ELSO Center of Excellence and the VAD Destination Therapy program is Joint Commission Certified.
